I have no other words, this is fucking sick. 5/5 around the board!

PhatBoiJ responds:

Thanks! I see you love dubstep xD

Jesus christ, opening sounds like something out of a video game or movie. Grasped me immediately.

Now a problem i usually face, is making an opening such as that mix with what i want to put later such as drums and a bassline. You've done it perfectly here. Despite it being short, the drums don't sound out of place, even with the orchestral feel of the song and there is plenty variation where you take out the clap, or hihat or both.

I really like the sound of this piece, it definitely belongs in a flash or movie submission here on NewGrounds, you should approach some flash producers and tell them about it! :D

Thanks so much! I'm beginning to look forward to your reviews, as I love the constructive criticism.

Yo man, into my trance so i had a quick peek with this being the only "Trance" song on the latest list.

Immediately the first things i'm noticing are just minor bits of muddyness with your layers, which is easily altered by spending a bit more time mastering. However from a mastering perspective, your levels themselves are mixed appropriately, i didn't feel anything here was louder than another instrument.

Onto the song content itself, and i'm pretty blown away, you've got some amazing chord progression going on here, good simple melody following your pads which follow a very euphoric pattern. The only thing missing really is bass, even a simple yet noticable offbeat bass accompianing your hi-hat would have improved this song a LOT.

Piece of advice really regarding mastering would be to fiddle with EQ's more, so your lead is more high than mid with no bass, your pads are all mid with little bass and little high and your bass and kick fill up the low portion of your overall EQ. Mess around with it and i guarantee you'll come up with some nice results, with better sound quality.

Hope this helps man, i gave you a 4.5/5 for the minor adjustments i feel you should improve and a 5/5 on the voting so more people can get a listen and review themselves :D

If you wouldn't mind checking out some of my tracks, it'd be greatly appreciated!

Keep it up dude!

PhatBoiJ responds:

Reviewed a couple of your songs. Amazing work, no lie!

Very interesting sounds and buildup

Everything blends nicely

2 things, you need a more powerful low end bass kick and lower the volume of the snare.

Brilliant work so far :D

You are totally out of your league kid...

You never go backwards, always progressing. You've improved so much since we first discovered each other. The score since my 5 button is now:

4.67/5.00

Says it all, your drums as always are absolutely fantastic. Mastering is top notch! The vocals are a little loud, but they are not peaking above any other important parts like bass and kicks.

Your melody is fantastic and i don't think it sounds flat at all. It isn't exactly the most crisp sound i have ever heard. I think the reason it may SOUND flat is the overpowering kick, but thats what hardstyle is about isn't it ;)

Amazing once again and i cannot wait to hear more stuff Zexus, you never fail to impress me :)

Dj-Zexus responds:

This is possibly the greatest review I've ever received.
Very uplifting.
Thank you. ;D

I just got a new PC And sound system.
New tracks on the way. >:3

Only one complaint.

The EQ on your bells needs to be lowered at the high end and maybe turn the reverb down a little. It's a litte overpowering. Put the piano is lovely and the drums are fair. Maybe add a different snare/clap into the mix.

Pretty good attempt.

Good wobbles.

Get VEC 1, 2 and 3. Vengance essential club sounds. Loads of wav samples :) for drums and fx.

EmptyCell responds:

I have all VEC, but I heard, someone create a dupstep samples but who thats still a question... :D

Good attempt

Drums are spot on, leads are fine and the mastering isn't too bad. The bass is the main concern.

The bass should not follow the lead so much. Try making an 'offbeat' bass and adding that to future dance and trance songs you make. It'll help a lot :)

Shigimatsu responds:

Oh thanks a lot for the advice! I want to keep writing dance.. it's fun! I usually write more experimental/dnb stuff.

Pretty good.

Your piano part sounds nice, but the notes should have been a minor key, as the whole song is a bit more minor, even though the lead goes between different keys. The lead is amazing though, best one you've written so far, i can't explain how it actually fits so well together. The chording if that is right about it. Is pretty perfect. Use this lead(s) more.

The ending is nice, especially the sound effects, and the drums are spot on, as expected from you :)

Dj-Zexus responds:

hey, thanks! ;D
I wrote the notes to the piano at like, 4 o'clock in the morning.
It sounded okay so I just went with it Lol.

Thanks for the review. (:

The best madness song.

Every song fits the flash so perfectly and you make some really epic shit. This is my favorite one though, really techno feel to it. I'm not writing a review, because this song should NOT be critisized in anyway.

Congrats on making the epic 'mad' music!

cheshyre responds:

Thank you!! Krinkels and I work really hard to make madness an enjoyable experience... Glad you like it!!

Been producing a while on and off. Have a youtube channel with the same name if you'd like to see music/gaming content :D
